A Communicant's class for this parish has been contemplated for some time, and we are sure that many will now be glad to hear that everything is being done for its formation. It is intended that the class, a monthly one, shall consist of all parishioners who are, or wish to be, Communicants. It is very probable that this class will meet for the first time in the middle of May, shortly before Whitsuntide, but a more detailed notice will be given nearer the time.

The reply from the Education Office respecting the two omissions from Her Hajesty's Inspector's recent report has supplied the missing intelligence, the error having arisen from some inadvertence. We have therefore to add to the Day School Grant already announced, the sum earned for the extra subject, English Literature, £1. 18., and for the Night School, £14. Os. 6d., making a total of £95. 12s. 6d.

The publication of the results of the December examination of Acting Teachers shows, that Miss Julian, our Infant School Mistress, has passed very creditably, her name having been placed in the 2nd division of the Class list.

We have at the same time to announce, with much regret, that Miss Julian has given notice of her intention to leave her present work in June.

During the last month, Francis M. Pope has been articled as Pupil-teacher in the room of Thomas Drinkwater.

The Collections on Sunday, April 1st, for the Churchwardens' Expenses amounted to £2. 10s. 8d.

STINCHCOMBE.

The Offertory on Good Friday amounted to £7. 12s. 10d. This sum was sent to the House of Mercy, at Bussage.

As usual, the Church was decorated for Easter. Though there was not a great deal of ornamentation, what there was, was well

done. The font, lectern, and pulpit, were decked with flowers. The scroll at the East end was very effective. The words upon it were "Alleluia, the Lord is Risen, Alleluia," in white 'everlastings' on a red background. The festal appearance of the Church at the seasons of Easter, Christmas, &c., should remind the worshipper of "the beauty of holiness," and of the Resurrection to Eternal Life through Christ our Lord.

On the 1st Sunday after Easter an Offertory was collected from the whole congregation at the Morning Service for the "Church and Choir Fund." The amount (including £2 afterwards given) was £10. 18s 3d.

Seed potatoes have been sold during April at a low price to several persons in the parish, as announced in last month's magazine. About 14 sacks have in this way been disposed of, a hundred-weight being in most cases the quantity allotted to a family.

On Thursday, April 22nd, the School was examined by the Rev. H. C. Powles, the Diocesan Inspector, in religious knowledge. The number of children examined was 86.

On Sunday, May 2nd, the Offertory at the Holy Communion will be given to the Church Penitentiary Association.

The above two Clubs are now amalgamated into one, the payments being taken every Monday morning at the School, which, to judge from the great increase of members, is found to be very convenient. The subscription book will go round as usual in July.
