Is. liv. 13. And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord. Dan. xii. 4. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Promises of Purity, Holiness, and Rightcousness in the Church. Is. xxxiii. 5. The Lord is exalted, for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness. Ver. 6.. And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure. Is. xlv. 8. Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together: I the Lord have created it. Ps. lxxxv. 10. Mercy and truth are met together: righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Ver. 11. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Ver. 13. Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set us in the way of his steps. Is. lx. 21. Thy people shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. Is. lxi. 11. As the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. Mal. iii. 43. He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Ver. 4. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. Ps. lxxii. 5. They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. Rev. xix. 8. And to her [the Lamb's wife] was granted, that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints. V. Promises of Peace, Love, and Unity. Is. ii. 4. And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Is. xi. 6. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf, and the young lion, and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. Ver. 7. And the cow and the bear shall feed: their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. Ver. 8. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice den. Ver. 9. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain. Ver. 13. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. Ps. lxxii. 3. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills by righteousness. Ver. 7. In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace, so long as the moon endureth. John, xvii. 20. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word: Ver. 21. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Eph. iv. 16. VI. Promises of the Submission and the Destruction of the Enemies of the Church. Ps. cx. 2. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: Rule thou in the midst of thy enemies. Ver. 5. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings, in the day of his wrath. Ver. 6. He shall judge among the heathen: he shall fill the places with dead bodies: he shall wound the heads over many countries. Is. xi. 4. He shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Is. xli. 11. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee, shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing: and they that strive with thee shall perish. Ver. 12. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. See Ver. 15, 16. Is. xlix. 24. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? Ver. 25. But thus saith the Lord, Even the captive of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be deliver. ed; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. Ver. 26. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh, and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the mighty one of Jacob. Is. lix. 19. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Is. lx. 14. The sons also of them that afflicted thee, shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee, shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, 'The City of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel. If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand; Ver. 10. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture, into the cup of his indignation. Rev. xviii. 2.
