A young man hath great need of sound direction in the matter of his
reading, that it be not to him an early cause of stumbling; but rather, that
by virtue of a previous discipline, he may with all cheerfulness, and
fondness, and familiarity, be conducted by Poetry to the very threshold of
Philosophy.
