Obferve concerning the Numeral Letters, that if a lefs Numeral Letter be placed before a greater, it takes away from the greater fo much as the leffer ftands for: but being placed after a greater, it adds fo much to it as the leffer ftands for: as the Letter V ftands for Five; but having I. placed before it, it takes One from it, and makes both ftand but for Four, thus IV. But I. being fet after V, it adds One to it, and makes it Six VI. Take notice of these Examples.
