M OST of the following Pieces relate to Subjects that have been controverted in the Courfe of our Magazine, but could not be conveniently inferted, for the Reafons mention'd in Vol. x. p. 250. We thought it therefore our Duty to make a Publication in this manner, which we hope our Correfpondents will accept as an Inftance of our Gratitude and Willingness to oblige them. We ought indeed to ask their Pardon for fo long-a Delay, it being not lefs than two Years fince we gave them Expectations of feeing their Letters appear. But after feveral Sheets were printed off, fome Differtations which we mention'd in Vol. x. p. 29. were unluckily miflaid. However, fhould this Undertaking meet with a kind Reception, we intend a fecond in a convenient Time, and if the Authors of thofe Differtations will favour us with new Copies, we fhall not fail to infert them....
