Here lyeth the body of Wife of Joseph Webb, EDWARD WARD, buried June 27, 1731.* BEVIL HIGGONS, buried March 6, 1735.† * A writer of low humour, generally known by the familiar appellation of Ned Ward. He was a native of Oxfordshire, of humble extraction. For many years he kept a coffee-house in Moorfields, and afterwards a punch-house in Fulwood's Rents, near Gray's Inn, where he died June 20, 1721. His funeral was directed by a poetical will, written by himself in 1725. His most noted work is the "London Spy." +Author of a book against Bishop Burnet's History, and a tragedy called "The Generous Conqueror, or the Timely Discovery." He was a younger son of Sir Thomas Higgons. Being devoted to the interest of James II., he was one of those who accompanied that monarch into exile. Sulyard, defcended from the ancient family of the Sulyards of Houghley Park in the county of Suffolk who departed this life the 10th day of March 1715, in the 80th year of his age Requiescat in pace. Here Lyeth all that was Mortal of the worthy Daughter of Hugh Lord Clifford of Chudley, and the much lamented Wife of Cuthbert Constable, of Burton Constable in Holderness, Esq; A Lady Who in the Flower of her Youth Employ'd her whole Time and Thoughts In the Care of her Soul, the Christian Education of her Children, And an engaging Behaviour to her Husband and Friends: She was Agreeable without Art: Cheerful without Levity, Grave without Affectation: Witty without Censoriousness: Obliging to all without Flattery: Patient and Couragious without Ostentation: An Enemy to nothing, but what was vicious or base: A Friend only to Vertue and Truth. She finish'd her Course on the 25th of July, A.D. 1731, and the 26th Year of her Age. Her disconsolate Husband erected this Monument Of her uncommon Merit and his irreparable Loss. THOMAS RHODES, Son of William & Agnes Rhodes, Died 30th January, 1787, aged 69 years. Also ROBERT EDWARD BLOUNT, and WILLIAM RHODES, Children of Samuel and Elizabeth Rhodes, of Islington, who Died in their infancy. In Memory of ANN RHODES, of Hampstead, Midd, Daughter of Samuel and Ann Rhodes, Who departed this Life October 3rd, 1842, aged 72 years. Also THOMAS RHODES Esq' of Muswell Hill, Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Rhodes, of Tottenham Wood, Who died 23rd July 1846, aged 45 years.
