James Touchet, Earl of Castlehaven,
Baron of Orier, Baron Audley

of Heleigh in the County of Stafford. Her Ladyship was daughter to Henry Lord Arundell, of Wardour Castle, in the County of Wilts. She dyed June 24th 1743, aged 52.

WILLIAM WOOLLETT, Engraver to His Majesty, was born at

Maidstone in Kent,

upon the 15th of August

MDCCXXXV.

He died the 23rd and
was interred in this place
on the 28th Day of May
MDCCLXXXV*

ELIZABETH WOOLLETT, Widow of the above
Died December the 15th 1819
Aged 73 years

On this Tomb were written with a pencil, the following lines, which are now defaced :

"Here Woollett rests expecting to be sav'd,

He graved well, but is not well engrav'd."

It is not improbable that these lines gave rise to a noble subscription for erecting a monument in Westminster Abbey to Woollett's memory, and to which Benjamin West, P.R.A., and Alderman Boydell were liberal contributors. In the cloisters of Westminster Abbey will be found the following inscription upon the monument erected to his memory:

"WILLIAM WOOLLETT

Born Avgvst XXIInd MDCCXXXV
Died May XXIIIrd MDCCLXXXV
