Near this Spot Repose the Remains of Mast. WILLOUGHBY JAMES BURSLEM, who departed this Life the 19th day of Dec Anno Domini 1783, being the only child of Willoughby James Burslem, Esqre., & Sarah, his Wife, of the Parish of Lambeth. To whose Memory

his disconsolate Parents have erected

this Stone and inscribed the

Here lies the sweetest bud of Hope
That e'er to fondest wish was given.
Would you know its happier state

Repent, and feek the flower in Heaven.

who died the 22nd of Dec., 1802, aged 50 Years.

While I touch I feel within

Sacred to ANNA CECILLA,

Daughter of Christopher Rhodes, Efqre., of Chatham, in the county of Kent.

She died Jan. 2nd, 1796, aged 32.

In the first Period of her life

She was the Ornament and Delight of her Family, and the Admiration of all who knew her; Lovely in her Person, refined in her Sentiments, and amiable in her Temper & Manners.

At the Age of 17, Disease with relentless Hand, ftript off the Pageantry of external Beauty; But it only served to fhew her in the more lovely Dress of Meekness, Submiffion, and Patience. At 21 fhe was feiz'd with an uncommon Nervous Affection,

which continuing the remaining eleven years of her Life, Bowed down her earthly Fabric and gradually confumed it;

Yet did her Refignation fupprefs the ftarting Complaint her Agonies extorted,

And her own Mifery was nearly forgotten in a Concern for fympathising Friends around her. At length by the gracious Appointment of Heaven The Disorder that had fo long afflicted her, broke the Bands which held her here, And she took her Flight to that World Where every mystery of Providence is explained and "the Inhabitants whereof shall no more say they are fick."

wife of Francis Waring, Esqre., of Ford,
in the County of Salop;
who Died December 31st, 1794:
aged 40 years.

Tho' acccomplished to shine

She is now gone to possess
Where kindred Spirits unite
In universal Harmony,

And Jefus is the Theme of their Song.

Historical Engraver,

Who after a Life of great professional Industry And Exemplary Piety,

joyfully commenced his everlasting Sabbath, March 14th, 1802, aged 43 years.

Who Died August 9th, 1809,
aged 55 years.

Mrs. JANE HILL, wife of Philip Hill,
of Greek St., in the Parish of St. Ann, Soho,
who fuddenly departed this Life

on Sunday, Sep. 14th, 1817,

In the 45 year of her age.

On Suppliant Knees her Morning prayers just ended, Death's fatal Power affailed her much loved Frame; By Setting Sun her spirit had afcended

To ascribe Salvation to her Saviour's name,

"All Flesh is grass, and all the goodliness
Thereof is as the flower of the field.

The grass withereth, the Flower fadeth,
But the word of our God shall stand for ever."

Beneath

Formerly Proprietor of New Harbour,
in the Bay of Bengal ;

Whose spirit returned to Him who gave it,
on the last day of the year MDCCCXIII.

Lacam, 'twas thine to pray and not to faint;
Not so the sinner-this portrays the saint!
A life of warfare, such a life was thine;
With brighter lustre bade thy graces shine.
Injuries forgot, submission to the rod;
Stedfast reliance on a covenant God;
Unfailing charity ;-Behold the Fruit
Produced from living faith's perennial root!
Joyful in hope, thy spirit left its earth;

-And is this death ?-No! 'tis a heavenly Birth!
Reader! attend! the hours yet lent improve!
Thou too press forward to the things Above;
Thou too with ardour seize the sure Reward

Bought by the precious Blood of Christ, our Lord; Through whom,-through whom alone, are sins forgiven;

Whose faithful followers are the Heirs of Heaven.
