My strength is lost, my life resign'd,
Amongst the bless'd my place assign'd,
Then, dearest friends, who shar'd my heart,
Far from those mournful scenes depart;
Repose your grief in Christ alone,

We there shall meet around His throne;
Where endless bliss for ever flows,

And over us may one grave close.

ELIZA HARRIS,

Relict of the late George Harris,
Died August 8th, 1821,

Why heave the sigh or drop the fruitless tear?
Thy senseless form can neither see nor hear;
Thy soul, that immaterial part, has flown,
And on swift pinions travers'd worlds unknown.
Oh! shade rever'd, for ever may'st thou rest
In realms of peace on thy Redeemer's breast.
