Sacred

To the Memory of

BENJAMIN PERRY,

For many years

of the Brill House,
Somers Town,

The Affectionate and Beloved Son of

David and Elizabeth Perry,
of Broxted,

in the County of Essex,

Who Departed this Life
on the 10th April, 1850,
in his 70th year.

This Monument is erected by his children

as a last tribute

to his Memory.

WILLIAM BORROWS,

Died at Kingston, Jamaica,

March 9th, 1816,
Aged 21.

How vain to trust in blooming youth and health,

How vain the best laid plans for fame or wealth;

By friends approved he left his native land,

Scarce two months had he reach'd that distant strand,

When struck by fever's pestilential breath,

Th' aspiring youth in five days yields his breath.

Sacred

To the Memory of MAURICE MARGAROT,
Who died November 11th, 1815,
Aged 67 years.

In 1793 he was chosen a delegate,
from the London Corresponding Society
to the British Convention,

to promote a just reform in the Commons House of Parliament, and although his conduct in that assembly was able, legal, and upright,

still he was, under the

ministry of William Pitt,

in 1794, condemned by the Court of Justiciary in Edinburgh to 14 years' transportation to New South Wales. Expatriated by that severe sentence He was, with four other martyrs, to the cause of freedom, Fitzgerald, Muir, Palmer, & Skirvinge, doomed to unparallelled sufferings, which he endured with the magnanimity of conscious rectitude and unsullied honour. He alone survived in 1810,

and returned to his native land
injured in health, ruined in fortune,
yet still esteemed and revered
by his enlightened fellow-citizens.
Also to the Memory of
His wife ELIZABETH,
Who died Feb. 14th, 1841,
aged 77 years.

She heroically participated

in all the misfortunes of her husband, and during his unmerited exile solaced him with the tenderest affection. She was characterised by every female virtue. She lived beloved,

and in full possession of her mental faculties she died, sincerely regretted

by all who knew her.

Miss SARAH JORDAN,

Departed this life Oct 10th, 1815,
Aged 17 years and eight months.
Alas! she's gone in nature's prime,
She withered like a rose,

That's cropt before it scarce had time,
Its beauties to disclose.

To the Memory of ANNA MARIA
FITZGERALD, Widow of Major-General Fitzgerald,
Many years in the Service of Portugal,
Who terminated her mortal career

on the first day of March of the year MDCCCXV.
Esteemed by all her acquaintances
For her amiable and engaging manners,
She is now lamented by her afflicted friends.
Dying in the sentiments in which she had lived,
She exemplified in her last moments

The salutary maxim that a good death is the
Certain recompense of a virtuous life.

R. Q. I. P.

Here lieth what was mortal

of Miss JACKSON,

Who died August the 6th, 1815,

in the 33 year of her age.

May she rest in peace.

Pray for my rest and ask not who I am,

Prepare yourself, your own last hour draws nigh.

In Memory of
Mr MICHAEL GILSON,

Who departed this Life 23rd October, 1816,
Aged 41 years.

Lo! underneath this stone doth lie,
As dear a husband as could die;
When living, him I held in love,
Next to the Almighty God above;
Το go to him is all I crave,
And rest within this silent grave.

Sacred

to the Memory

of HARRIET, the wife of Daniel Stalker, of Guilford Street, in this Parish, Who died on the 23 of August, 1816, Aged 35 years.

Earth's fairest flower

Too bright, too beautiful to last;
Living still in memory as one
Whose virtues ne'er can be surpassed.
Too good for earth

Obeyed the call of Heaven.

Also in Memory of
DANIEL STALKER, Esqre.,
Who died June 24th, 1824,
Aged 64 years.

His friendship was sincere,
His benevolence unbounded,
His heart generous, and his mind
Endowed with all the virtues
That constitute an affectionate
Husband, a fond parent,
And a valuable friend.

Here lies the Body of
DANIEL KENNEDY,

Died 19 January, 1817,
Aged 62.

Also of CATHARINE, his Wife,
Died 26th May, 1807,
Aged 44.

Sacred to thy memories, oh! parents dear,
This stone thy children have erected here.
A tribute of affection due from them to you,
Whom ye nourish'd, cherish'd, and protected too.
Whose welfare was your anxious hope and care,
For whom you watch'd to guide from every snare,
And taught the Lord to fear, and in His mercy trust,
To pass through life plain, honestly, and just,
As ye did do, and by our merits rise,

Respected and esteemed as ye were in yere lives,
That you may the reward good parents share,
Shall be your children's never-ceasing prayer.

HENRY MAY,

Died Nov. 11th, 1822, aged 10 years.

The tender branch that sleepeth here,
Was well beloved by parents dear:
How few his days, how short his race!
But heaven I hope is his resting place.
